Rumman is an independent musical and cultural space in Tripoli, Lebanon that aims to strengthen and promote the Independent Music sector

Creating independent spaces and cultural activities that invites like-minded artists to exchange ideas, thoughts, and create art together thus contributing to enriching the cultural scene in Tripoli, North Lebanon, and beyond. 

Our Values:

Rumman is a grass-roots project governed by principles based on equality, solidarity, mutual support, participation and respect for inter-culturalism. 

We believe our success and sustainability is based on the support from the local community as well as collaborating with other individuals and entities that share similar ethical values such as transparency, sincerity, social responsibility, and compassion. 

RUMMAN is a safe cultural space that does not tolerate any forms of discrimination, hate speech, harassment or violence on any grounds.

Meet the Team

Alexandre Khouri | Founder

Alexandre has been involved with the musical scene in Lebanon for a decade. He plays West African drums in multiple bands and organized a number of alternative musical events in Beirut and Tripoli. In 2018 he co-created a collective called the Northern Frequencies with the objective of developing the electro music scene in Tripoli and its suburbs. Alexandre is also an entrepreneur and founded the Levantine Institute of Tripoli in 2017.

Mohammad El Tannir | Co-Founder, Cooperation & Development

Mohammad has more than 6 years of professional experience working in the Arts & Culture sector in the Arab region. He is responsible for establishing partnerships and collaborations with local and international cultural entities. He also moonlights as an underground DJ.

Germain Bassot | Co-founder, Global Strategy & Technical Support

Germain has more than 10 years of experience as a technical director. He began his musical journey at 15 years old as a music composer and DJ. He's also an advocate for improving the condition of artists and venues in France by collaborating between artists and public institutions. 

Adham Yehia | Coordinator

Adham is a Lebanese guitar composer and teacher. He studied theatrical arts for two years at the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts, before finding his true passion in music and joining the Higher Institute of Music in Damascus. He completed his studies at the National Conservatoire of Music in Lebanon.

He currently coordinates the activities at Rumman so make sure to swing by and say hello.

Omar Mohamad | Digital Marketing

Omar handles Rumman's and The Levantine Institute of Tripoli's Digital Marketing. He's responsible of launching Rumman's online promotional campaigns as well as managing the center's social media accounts.
